Artist Statement
A self-employed artist/designer for thirty-five
years, I work primarily in architectural, cast,
and laminated glass. Integrated harmoniously
with the architectural statement and
the natural environment, art has the potential
to ease stress, induce a sense of calm,
and enrich lives. I am personally involved in
all phases of design, fabrication, and installation.
Whether in a public, corporate, or liturgical
space, I seek to use a blend of the
best traditional and state-of-the-art techniques.
Accustomed to collaborating with
clients, architects, committees, and general
contractors—often with different agendas—
I strive for all to arrive at a unified
goal without sacrificing the aesthetics of a
commission. I consider my artwork a visual
point of departure, as each individual brings
his or her own perspective. As with cloud
watching, one is free to discover an unanticipated
aspect, to see something new
within the familiar.
