Alison Palmer

"My work celebrates the joy of life. The pieces are functional and designed for those special occasions when everyday tableware will just not do. I need to see forms in three dimensions and, of course, the challenge is to interpret those forms with the tools at hand."

Alison Palmer is always creating something new and the ideas never seem to run out. Whether it be in earthenware, stoneware, wood or plaster there is always something new just around the corner - usually whimsical, usually colorful, and never without a certain sense of humor

After 30 years in ceramics, Alison still gets great enjoyment out of the process of creating new pieces. From the inception of the original idea, through the technical processes (including the making of molds), to her favorite part - working with color. Alison is always thinking ahead and is constantly using her artistic vision to explore and interpret.

Alison attended Kansas City Art Institute as well as the California College of Arts and Crafts where she received her BFA in ceramics. She studied with Viola Frey.

Awesome Gift

We gave these as a gift to a couple who bought a new home with a white kitchen and cobalt blue accents. This was the perfect wimsical gift for a housewarming!!! The quality was great, the artist definitely has a sense of humor!

Adorable, but over-sized

The salt and pepper shakers are adorable, but I wish they were about half the size. They are too big for the table, so they have ended up as decorations. I would buy them again if they were offered smaller.
