Sara Post

"I am exploring ceramic collage as a way to play with lines and edges--containing and traversing boundaries, cropping and extending images, creating abstractions. Painting on white clay and glaze creates a surface suffused with light."

Sara Post brings experience as a painter, printmaker, and collage artist to her ceramic wall works. Her signature soft opaque glaze on white stoneware appears to glow with color. Fine, incised lines lend another subtle dimension to the surface. "I look for the linear in organic and architectural forms; thereis a natural abstraction there --a reoccurring element in my work.

Hand cut sections are painted, etched and fired separately. Each piece is adhered to a Baltic birch panel and finished with thin grouted lines. Wall works hang securely with a French cleat hanging system and are impervious to light, dust and humidity. Hanging materials and simple mounting instructions are included.
